About the Miami Veterans Day Centennial Salute [previously the Coconut Grove Veterans Day Parade and Celebration]
The Miami Veterans Day Centennial Salute is held in honor of and to show thanks to all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Held in the Coconut Grove Neighborhood of the City of Miami the celebration includes a memorial remembrance ceremony at Historic Charlotte Jane Memorial Park Cemetery; a veterans benefits fair; a parade through Coconut Grove; and a community gathering with guest speakers. American Legion Post 182, the primary host of the event, was founded in 1946 and has been having an annual celebration for over 20 years. With the involvement of organizations and performers throughout Miami-Dade and neighboring counties, parade and celebration is a large music and food filled day for the entire South Florida community. We look forward to the community's participation in this commemorative celebration of South Florida's veterans.
